Solution Architect f/m/d
As a Solution Architect, you will lead the overall technical vision for complex software solutions consisting of different services and components for AVL’s customer. AVL offers software solutions to its customers to connect all elements of the vehicle development process and, independent of tools and vendors, to have access to data from the simulation, test and methodology departments. Your role is crucial in leveraging your profound knowledge of available technologies to suggest the best solutions that align with business requirements. Effective communication and negotiation skills are vital, as you will engage with stakeholders from various areas to understand their needs, manage risks, and ensure project goals are met. Working closely with the enterprise architect and other solution architects, you will support the overall enterprise architecture vision. This position is located at our headquarters in Graz, and you will collaborate with intercultural teams across the globe.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and drive the architectural structure and vision for diverse software solutions
- Effectively communicate the architecture to stakeholders and collaborators.
- Identify project risks and product gaps, providing viable workarounds to ensure client requirements can be met
- Champion the architecture function within the organization, facilitating the delivery of solutions and guidance to customers, including contributing to regular delivery checkpoints
- Identify, understand, and communicate technical issues related to the solutions, providing recommendations for their resolution
- Evaluate existing software solutions and propose recommendations for system evolution
- Decompose and document complex software solutions according to company standards
- Supervise and guide development teams to ensure the correct usage of patterns and technologies
- Ensure the appropriate utilization of the company's architectural principles and guidelines
- Contribute to the architecture chapter to support the enterprise architecture vision
- Continuously research emerging technologies and propose changes to the existing architecture
YOUR PROFILE:
- Successfully completed education HTL/university/technical college in the field of computer science or comparable
- Minimum 3 years of experience in leadership positions
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a lead developer or software architect
- Profound knowledge of the following technologies and frameworks: .NET, SQL and No-SQL Databases, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, OIDC, etc
- Extensive knowledge of architectural patterns, particularly in the area of Microservices (Message Driven Architecture, API Gateway, Domain Driven Architecture, CQRS, Event Sourcing, etc.)
- Solid understanding of a variety of programming tools and development platforms such as C#, .NET, C++, Java, Angular, and Python
- Experience with Cloud Deployments (Azure, AWS), SaaS, and Cloud Native technologies
- Experience in DevOps and Quality Assurance
- Previous experience in client-facing roles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both German and English

Annual Remuneration: Due to the Austrian Equal Treatment Act we are obligated to state the annual gross remuneration (full-time) for this position as a basis for negotiation: €70,000.00. The Employee will be classified according to the Collective Agreement for Employees of Industry (Collective Bargaining Agreement of the Automotive Industry). We will, in any case, offer market-conforming payment taking qualifications and professional experience into account.
